Description
Ethereal Avalanche falls, located within the fabulous Flume Gorge in New Hampshire's scenic Franconia Notch State Park. This cascade, with its numerous delicate & graceful veils, is one of the most picturesque in all of New England. It's roughly a 45' drop, and when Flume Brook hits the granite base, it roars through a gorge with sheer cliffs that average 70-90 feet in height and just 12-20 feet apart.
This may just be the Virgin River Narrows (Zion N.P.) equivalent of the northeast!

Beautiful, Thomas! I remember Franconia Notch from my family's hiking days when I was younger...great place and you captured a lovely scene of the falls here.

Thanks, Brenda :) My wife and I go way back when here as well. We would tent camp and backpack in the White Mtns. dating back to '84 I think. The Flume Gorge at the time was a frequent visit. Thanks for the kind compliments :))
