Description
As the Bear River carves it's way through Maine's rugged White Mountains near it's western border it makes for quite a spectacular series of waterfalls in Grafton Notch. These cascades are known as the Screw Auger Falls. Several drops within a 75 yard span add up to an overall plunge of 52 feet. As the river twist and turns it's way through this chasm it creates unique potholes and grottoes that have taken eons for nature to perfect.
