Description
I've said many times while describing New England's scenic landscapes, it's a land of nooks and crannies and the most beautiful details are on a more intimate scale.
This is a simple scenic that exemplifies that statement. I happened to be on a mission looking for subjects in a geographical area requested by commercial clients for corporate needs. A fresh blanket of sticky wet snow was oh so perfect! Deciding to explore some roads yet to be plowed in a very remote rural location, I came upon this brilliant red farmhouse. The simple shaker style was enhanced by the snow that accumulated to the horizontal clapboard siding. This to me was a scene that seemed to jump right out of a painting!
I explored numerous compositional options, many of which will be offered as Fine Art prints. This was the single image that rocked my world, having so many perfect elements come together to create an idyllic New England countryside artwork!

I have a very similar barn & Maple here in Keene, NH; however, the barn is white, so I often use BW to capture the lines & shadows. Nice blend of white, red and dark brown. Sure says New England. f/l

Thanks Betsy! This image is a good example as how I "see things" when setting up a composition. Symmetry, rhythm... Appreciate the L/F I love the Keene area, not too far from where I live currently and I get over that way often :)
