Description
I've photographed this lovely New England scenic on many occasions during every season the northeast can experience. I happened to be in the vicinity just as a fierce winter storm was passing through so I decided to trek up the steep,unplowed road to view this iconic little red barn. I was simply awestruck how the wind blown snow had transformed the landscape to a monochromatic scene with the exception of the faded red of the barn siding and the vivid patriotic colors of the American flag. The barren starkness of the winter transformed this bucolic farmscape into something that really moved me. Despite the howling winds and blowing snow, the old barn with the American flag stood defiantly. A stoic symbol of freedom and perseverance. I decided to title this image "STANDING TALL" dedicated to the proud people that built this country.
