Southern New Hampshire is home to Chesterfield Gorge State park. The gorge is a scenic treasure, as Partridge Brook and the Wilde River split and become a series of sublime cascades twisting and turning and occasionally coming to a rest at a shallow pool before descending through more shoots and deeply carved boulders.
The region is dominated by Mt. Monadnock in nearby Jaffrey, thus the locals have dubbed the southwest corner of the state Monadnock Country. Portions of the gorge are far more accessible than others. The sections deemed dangerous are fenced off. They are also the more desirable and photogenic waterfalls within the gorge, and the ones I prefer to photograph.
