A gorgeous scene from the heart of Cades Cove facing northeast at sunrise under a canopy of trees along Hyatts Lane. On my journey to capture the essence of America's southland, I wanted to find scenes that revealed the character and charm the Appalachians are known for.
I photographed this image a day after exploring Tennessee's Cades Cove as I looked for scenes of interest to me. Patiently, I waited for the sun to rise on this late spring morning. It illuminated the sweet grass and slight haze in the air over the open fields. The trees hovering overhead filled the frame so nicely.
