I first photographed this picturesque Connecticut white barn way back in 1989. I lived nearby for 16 years and was always drawn to its classic appearance. I wasn't a very experienced photographer in 1989, it was a very early stage of my photography journey. In 1991 I had applied to a photo contest for a popular magazine publication and sent in slide duplicates and my contact information. My oh my, how times have changed!
After several months had passed, I was notified by mail that my image was chosen to be featured in a beautiful calendar as the October feature and also was requested to be used in the magazine for a Litchfield Connecticut article. A license agreement was signed and it was to become my very first publication!
I returned for the first time to re-shoot this scene in October 2019 after a full 30 years had passed! Remarkably the rustic barn has been preserved well and in my personal opinion, looks even better than it did in 1989. The results of the most rec...
