This is a sample of the forest known as the Sieur de Monts Woodlands located in Maine's Acadia National Park. A wooden plank path -which is part of Jesup Trail - has been built by the Park service to gain access to this wonderful and amazing northern hardwood forest due to the high water table. It's very common for this area to be saturated with water almost a foot deep.
This is an early autumn capture just as the Birch foliage begins to take on it's brilliant yellow-gold appearance. Often times the foliage in swampy areas will begin to turn by September while the weather is still warm.
The images have been created with a high resolution professional SLR, and stitched together seamlessly using advanced professional software to make a very high quality print, at a very large size!
